  • STEM school visit

The Place and Economy team visited Granville Boys High School in late October 2024 to connect with the students on science and technology projects, as part of CSIRO's Generation STEM program.

The high school students presented 3D models and coding projects that they had developed for water conservation and management, with the Council team providing real-world feedback on smart technology.

Cumberland City Council is a participant in the Generation STEM program and has been actively working on mentoring high school students in the LGA, promoting STEM-based learning for Smarter Communities and a Smarter Economy.

STEM is a teaching acronym that stands for Science, Techology, Engineering and Mathematics.
