  • May 2023 Update

    Ruth Street Park will be closed from the end of May 2023 for preparatory works.

    Construction is expected to commence in July 2023 and will be completed in September 2023, weather permitting.

    The Merrylands Civic Square (MCS) project is well underway.

    Stage 1: (located between McFarlane Street and Main Lane

    • Structural footings for the pre-cast wall commenced.
    • Jets and Water feature work commenced.
    • Drainage, water and electrical conduits have been installed.
    • Concrete has been poured for the canopies’ footings and foundations.
    • Two new bus shelters have been installed adjacent in McFarlane Street adjacent to the MCS site.

  • NSW Government News

    Transport for NSW is seeking feedback to help shape safer cities and towns for women.

    Those aged 16 years and above are encouraged to complete a short anonymous 10-minute survey or share their ideas regarding their thoughts on safety in the community. This feeback will help Transport for NSW to better understand the experiences that affect the sense of safety in and around public spaces and transport hubs.

    The consultation is open until 8 February 2023.

    We are excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2022/2023 Her Sport Her Way Awards, a key initiative in the NSW Government’s Her Sport Her Way strategy to advance equality in sport.

    The Her Sport Her Way Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of women leaders in sport and the efforts of the sector throughout 2022 in providing equal opportunities for girls and women to participate in sport in NSW.

  • Specific sites in Auburn and Lidcombe

    Following consideration by Council and the Local Planning Panel in 2021, a Planning Proposal for targeted sites in Auburn and Lidcombe was submitted to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment in late 2021. In its assessment of the proposal, the Department determined that further technical reports were needed in order to understand the impact the proposals would have on their surrounding areas. In response to the Department’s determination, Council has resolved the following:

  • Granville Town Centre and Surrounds
