  • July 2023 update - final stage work commencing

    The last remaining piece of infrastructure upgrade work to be completed is the construction of a new major stormwater culvert under Addlestone Rd near the intersection with Merrylands Road. This is large and complex work requiring upgrade to water main and relocation of underground utilities/services. With approval from Sydney Water finally granted, this work is about to commence.

  • Community Voice Panel - June 2023 Update

  • May 2023 update

    Civil works have commenced along Parramatta Road.

    Civil works include the reconstruction of concrete footpath with provision for low level planting zones.

    Preparations are well underway for the relocation of overhead power and telecommunication cables underground along Parramatta Road between Macquarie Road and Station Street, Auburn.

    Public art installation is progressing in Melton Street and anticipated to be completed end of May 2023.

    Ruth Street Park will be closed from the end of May 2023 for preparatory works.

    Construction is expected to commence in July 2023 and will be completed in September 2023, weather permitting.

    The Merrylands Civic Square (MCS) project is well underway.

    Stage 1: (located between McFarlane Street and Main Lane

    • Structural footings for the pre-cast wall commenced.
    • Jets and Water feature work commenced.
    • Drainage, water and electrical conduits have been installed.
    • Concrete has been poured for the canopies’ footings and foundations.
    • Two new bus shelters have been installed adjacent in McFarlane Street adjacent to the MCS site.

  • NSW Government News

    Transport for NSW is seeking feedback to help shape safer cities and towns for women.

    Those aged 16 years and above are encouraged to complete a short anonymous 10-minute survey or share their ideas regarding their thoughts on safety in the community. This feeback will help Transport for NSW to better understand the experiences that affect the sense of safety in and around public spaces and transport hubs.

    The consultation is open until 8 February 2023.
