May 2024 update:

The consultation on proposed land classification for 11A John Street, Granville, has closed and submissions are now being reviewed. Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback. 


April 2024 consultation:

Council is giving notification of the proposed land classification for 11A John Street, Granville. Council resolved, on 20 March 2024, to purchase and classify the land known as 11A John Street, Granville, being Lot 54 Section 2 DP277, as operational land in accordance with section 31(2) of the Local Government Act 1993. In accordance with section 34 of the Local Government Act 1993, a period of 28 days from the date of this notice is allowed for any person to lodge a written submission to the proposed classification.


Proposal

To purchase and classify the land known as 11A John Street, Granville, being Lot 54 Section 2 DP277, as operational land in accordance with section 31(2) of the Local Government Act 1993. The land is vacant, comprising approximately 1,100 sqm, and has a Sydney Water Canal traversing through it.


What is operational land?

Operational land ordinarily comprises land held as a temporary asset or as an investment, land which facilitates the carrying out by a council of its functions or land which may not be open to the general public.

The purchase and classification of the land are authorised by resolution of Council dated 20 March 2024, made available to view in the document library. 


To Make a Submission on the Proposal

In accordance with section 34 of the Local Government Act 1993, a period of twenty-eight (28) days from the date of this notice is allowed for any person to lodge a written submission to the proposed classification. 

Feedback can be provided on this proposal until 5pm (AEST) on Monday, 27 May 2024
