A planning proposal is a request to amend a Local Environmental Plan (LEP) through the ‘Gateway’ process. Cumberland has a number of ongoing planning proposals and voluntary planning agreements (VPAs).

You can view how projects are progressing on the NSW Planning Portal.

The Planning Proposal timeline and process can be found in the Local Environmental Plan Making Guideline – August 2023 (nsw.gov.au). For all Proponent Initiated Planning Proposal Requests lodged with Cumberland City Council, the requests will be publicly notified and exhibited on Council’s website immediately after the lodgement. Details on the preliminary consultation process for the Proponent-initiated Planning Proposal Requests can be found in the Planning Proposal Notification Policy An indicative project timeline can be found on the right.

  • Planning Proposals (Council Initiated)
  • Planning Proposal Requests (Proponent Initated)
