What we are doing
The Oakes Centre Precinct Public Domain Upgrades aim to give the community better public space with a range of facilities including outdoor dining opportunities, new public art, improved landscaping, improved wayfinding signage and new street furniture.
What we want to achieve
The upgrades will create a more vibrant and safe space as well as enhance the economic activity in the area. The new amenities will attract residents and visitors to explore the retail, services and culinary offerings of the Oakes Centre Precinct and surroundings.
Council is preparing to make the precinct more welcoming and establish a high-quality public domain that will link to the new Westmead metro station via Hawkesbury Road in the future.
How to have your say
Council values the opinions and suggestions of the community and would appreciate your input on the concept plans of the Oakes Centre Precinct Public Domain Upgrades. We encourage the community to view the concept plans for the precinct for review from our document library.
The consultation will run from Tuesday 30 June to Tuesday 28 July 2026.
