Council celebrates the 2026-27 Local Heritage Award Winners and Runners Up!
On 12 August 2026, Council held its annual 2026 Cumberland Local Heritage Awards Ceremony to celebrate and recognise award recipients with their commitment to Cumberland’s heritage.
The winners and runners-up of the 2026 Cumberland Local Heritage Awards were:
Category 1 – Best Maintained Heritage Property
This category showcases the Best Maintained Heritage Property.
- Bhim Prasad Paudel for the property at 22 Talbot Road, Guildford
Category 3 – HistoResearch: researching our local history
Category 3 celebrates those who expressed their interested in researching our local history in Cumberland.
Junior Division
- Winner – Sai Sraddha Shailesh for Gallipoli Mosque: A Place that Speaks a Thousand Words
- Runner Up – Salman Shawash for Holroyd Bricks Factory
- Runner Up – Ibrahim Mustafa Qureashi for Echoes of Gallipoli
Open Division
- Winner – Stephen Cummings for Wenty Voices – Wentworthville Now and Then
- Runner Up – Sai Sravan Shailesh for Whispers of Prospect Reservoir
Category 4 – Keeper of the Stone Colouring Competition
This category encourages children to learn about and engage with their local heritage through the Keeper of the Stone Children's Heritage Award colouring competition.
