Construction works are planned to commence on 23 June 2025 and will be completed in December 2025, weather permitting.
The upcoming rebuild of Granville Park Playspace, Merrylands, will commence construction in the middle of 2025. The project will bring significant improvements to the park’s existing facilities, enhancing the overall experience for families and visitors in the community.
The rebuild will feature a newly designed bigger and better water play area, providing an exciting and interactive splash park for children of all ages. The splash park will be named the Laurie Ferguson Splash Park, retaining its name from the former Parramatta City Council, and honouring Laurie Ferguson, who served as the Member for Granville in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1984 to 1990.
In addition to the splash park, the playground will undergo a comprehensive revitalisation, incorporating new play elements designed to stimulate creativity, exploration, and physical activity, with the addition of new amenities such as modern change facilities and toilets.
