Draft Social Media Policy
A review of Council's Social Media Policy report was tabled at the 17 June 2026 Council meeting with the following motion carried:
-
Place the Draft Social Media Policy on public exhibition for a period of 28 days; and
- Adopt the Policy following the exhibition period, unless feedback is received that would alter the intent of the Policy, in which case a further report will be provided to Council.
What Has Changed
Council has updated its Social Media Policy to make it clearer, safer and more responsive for our community.
A new section has been added to the Policy to ensure Council can act quickly when social media content poses a risk. This update helps the General Manager act quickly to protect staff and community wellbeing and address harmful or inappropriate online behaviour.
