Cumberland City Council worked with a consultant that specialises in creating captivating stories that bring to life the past for contemporary audiences. As part of this work, the consultant conducted a historical study, workshoped with relevant stakeholders such as local heritage groups, families and women’s groups to create a narrative structure including key historical information.

Yes, as part of the installation, Council seeks to share the stories of Merrylands' past women of influence, achievement and significance. To be considered for the installation, the selected women had to be:

- Someone who has passed away; and

- Have had significant contibution to the community of Merrylands.

At this stage, there is no nomination process for additional people to be included in the current art installation.

Council will consider feedback on the level of interest for a future nomination process. Should there be interest in progressing a future nomination process, further information will be provided by Council at that time.
