Proposed Granting of Drainage Easement through Council Land – Monterey Street South Wentworthville NSW 2145

Cumberland Council is giving notification of the proposal of granting a drainage easement through part of Council owned land located at 50A Monterey Street South Wentworthville NSW 2145 (Monterey Street Park, Lot 1 in DP 1037917) to permit the legal disposal of stormwater into Council’s stormwater system. This easement is proposed in favour of the adjoining property to be developed at 20 Monterey Street South Wentworthville (Lot 539 in DP 11653), in accordance with the Development Consent DA2024/0463, as modified by MOD2025/0318, for the purpose of carrying out stormwater drainage works. This notification is given under Section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993.

The land affected by the easement is within Lot 1 in DP 1037917 which forms part of Council’s larger landholding and will occupy an approximate area of 1.44m² (1.2 metres in width and approximately 1.2 metres in length) for a term of perpetuity.

The consultation period runs from Thursday 2 April 2026 to Friday 1 May 2026. During this community consultation period, residents are encouraged to submit their comments on the proposal. Anyone who wishes to provide feedback on the proposal must do so in writing by 5pm, Friday 1 May 2026.
